Some Facts Regarding Chemicals:
There are over 80,000 chemicals in commercial use today. Less than one percent have ever been tested for safety, especially for neurotoxic effects.
Less than a dozen chemicals are prohibited by federal regulations for inclusion in personal care products.
Companies are not required to disclose their complete ingredients in household, personal care and cleaning products or to test for safety.
Over 1,000 new chemicals are introduced each year into our environment and food chain with little or no safety testing. It is estimated that 60 to 80 percent of all cancers are a direct result of chemicals in our air, water and food.
Over 200 human health conditions have now been linked to environmental toxins. These include not only cancer but disorders such as autism, depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, immune/endocrine system disorders, asthma, and migraines.
Testing of humans indicates the presence of hundreds and even thousands of chemical toxins in blood, urine, body tissue, and even breast milk. Children are the most vulnerable to toxins due to their size, weight, and also risk of exposure during critical stages of development that could have life-long consequences.
If health problems are caused by toxins then reducing exposure to toxins should improve and even prevent the health problems.
